Designs Used
Cut a piece of denim a little larger than the hoop that you'll use to stitch the design.
Hoop the denim with one piece of cutaway stabilizer.
Embroider the design.
After embroidering, trim the stabilizer away from the back. Leave about 1/2" around the design.
Draw a rectangle around the design, leaving 2" around all sides.
Cut out the rectangle.
Cut a piece of denim the same size for the back.
Use interfacing to keep the door hanger from sagging when it's done. Cut a piece of interfacing 2" smaller than the rectangle.
Place the back piece of denim right side down, then add the interfacing.
Add the embroidered piece, right side up.
Stitch together, 1" from the edge.
Fringe the edges to add texture.
Attach a ribbon for hanging.
