Felt Grill Set

Cook up some tasty in-the-hoop play food with a do-it-yourself play grill! Felt and household materials come together to create this grill set in no time.

Supplies & Materials:

- Hot glue gun or hand sewing supplies

- Air-erase pen or marking chalk

- Craft knife

- Box

- Paper for wrapping

- Wooden craft sticks

- 9" x 12" sheets of stiff crafting felt (one sheet of black, two sheets of grey, and one sheet of green felt).

This felt grill set is made to coordinate with the  Play Food (In-the-Hoop) designs .

To get started, download and print the pattern PDF file linked above.

The grill itself comes in one size, but the spatula comes in two sizes (a 4x4 and a 5x7) to fit the ITH play food size. For the grill and spatula there are six pattern pieces that will print on 3 pieces of 8 1/2" x 11 sized paper.

Cut out the two paper pattern pieces for the grill.

For the "Grill Top" piece cut out the gray shapes with a craft knife to get the final grill top silhouette.

Trace the paper pattern pieces onto felt using an air-erase or chalk marking pen, and cut out the shapes.

Glue the top grill onto the grill back.

Wrap a box in white craft paper, and glue the grill pieces onto it to create the play grill.

To make the spatula, trace and cut out the pattern pieces for your selected size.

Cut out the shapes of the felt the same way as before.

Make sure to cut out two of each piece to create both sides of the spatula.

Glue one top piece to one handle piece and wait for it to dry.

To add sturdiness, glue a wooden craft stick to the connected top and handle.

Glue the second top piece on top of the first, lining up the edges and covering the craft stick.

Add the second handle piece, and allow to dry.
