When Nicki learned that there would be a new addition to her family, she knew she had to create something extra-special.

She writes, "Thanks for this opportunity to share something close to my heart. Since I am new to quilting, (this being only my third one completed), I had so much fun working with the embroidery of the alphabet characters from Embroidery Library. Once our niece Erica gave us the exciting news they were going to become parents, I was off to the fabric store with ideas galore, but knew the fabric would speak for itself, which it did. With her husband in the Air Force in Afghanistan and Erica in Spain, Germany, Turkey, Minnesota, & Alaska during her pregnancy, I had the enjoyment of making this quilt. As of yesterday, they are now proud parents of a baby girl, Ruth Elyn."
