We have a special Christmas celebration in our small community that enables people to use their creativity by decorating a Christmas tree with a theme and displaying it at our Vision of Trees. It is a weekend affair with Santa visiting, local entertainment, all homemade raffle items, goodies for sale and this year a silent auction. This is our 5th year, and we have been displaying about 40 trees the last couple of years. I have always wanted to do something with cardinals and this year used three patterns: Cardinal I and III and the Male Cardinal applique patterns using felt to achieve the cardinal theme. It was such fun seeing it come together. Last year I did embroidered lace snowflakes, ornaments and 3-D lace ornaments as well as covered Christmas balls. I am thinking of ideas for next year already. Thanks for all your wonderful ideas.
