Fresh Fruit Greeting Cards

Created By Karen

Karen has a Designer 1 embroidery machine, and she's been making tasty greeting cards with toile fruit designs!

She writes, "I wanted to share my new latest embroidery machine technique: stitching toile directly on card stock. Here is a picture of the note card sets that I made. It was so fun and easy, after a few trials and errors."

Light designs are best with cardstock. The designs include the days of the week that are composed with satin stitches, which are too heavy for cardstock. Karen deleted the text in order to stitch successfully on paper.

She writes, "I used a size 70 needle. I slowed my machine down when it got to the more densely stitched areas. I precut the cards and then took a piece of matching card stock and lined the inside to cover the stitching and lightweight cut away stabilizer that I used. I plan to make many sets of these to give as Christmas gifts. I think they would be great for my kids' teachers! Finally, for the envelopes, I used the invitation size pre-made envelopes purchased at any office supply store. They are the envelopes that fit the quarter fold cards."

She adds, " I plan to purchase the flower and bird sets to make more note card packs. Thanks for the great designs!!"

Thanks for showing us this project, Karen. I love showing off your creative ideas in the showcase!
