Designs Used

What I really wanted was for all of the things in my purse to be accessible, without having to dig for several minutes and I wanted things to stand up, instead of laying on top of each other.  So the first thing I did was empty all of the receipts out of the wallet and actually close it!  Then decided what I all needed to keep.

I decided that the organizer should be 20" long by 6" tall.

Then I hooped the fabric with a medium weight tear-away stabilizer and sewed out the embroidery designs.  We put 2 of the floral spray designs next to each other, creating a long, narrow design

After the Embroidery was finished sewing out, I cut out the pieces for the organizer.  The front and back are 21" wide by 7" tall.  The pocket piece is 1 1/2 times the length, or about 30" long and 4 1/2" deep.

Make a casing for the elastic on one long edge of the pocket piece.  Then gather the other long edge until the gathered edge is 21" long

Insert the elastic into the casing and then stitch the pocket piece to the right side of the unembroidered side piece along one long side

Now it is time to divide the large pocket.  Use the items from your purse to make the pockets the right size.  Use a straight stitch and sew about half-way down the height of the pocket.  I made several lines of stitching to make it secure.

Now stitch the front and back pieces together on the 3 sides, leaving one short side open.

Trim the stencil plastic to the desires size and slide it into place.  I found that it works well to roll the plastic when inserting, then allowing it to spring into place when nearly all the way inserted.

Tuck in the raw edges, stitch the last end closed and fill with your necessities

Success! A place for everything, and everything in its place!

Insert into your bag or purse.
I find that I can see and reach everything that I need with ease.
