Cut the fabric for the bag and lining to measure 26" wide by 18" high. The long side will be folded in half to make the width of the bag.

Fold the bag fabric in half so that the piece measures 13" wide by 18" high. Assume 1/2" seam allowance, and mark front of bag for design placement.

Mark buttonhole placement for drawstring. On either side of fold, approximately 1" from top and 1/4" in from fold. On other side of bag, mark 1" down and 3/4" in from each side (when seam is sewn, the distance between buttonholes will be the same.

Embroider the design, and sew buttonholes where marked. Use whatever size buttonholes you need to accommodate the drawstring.

To assemble the bag, sew 1/2" seams on bottom and side of bag. Finish side seam by serging or cut to 1/4" with pinking shears and press open.

Sew lining the same as above, but leave an opening in the side seam for turning the bag once assembled.

Place bag and lining right sides together and sew 1/2" seam around the top of the bag. Pull inside bag out so that you have one long cylinder with the bag on one side and the lining on the other. Press seam you just sewed.

Pull lining and bag through side seam opening in lining, turning both to right sides. Slip stitch opening in lining.

Tuck lining inside bag and press across top for crisp edge.

Sew through both lining and back just below and above buttonholes to make casing. If you don't want a "ruffle-like top) sew as close to top edge as possible.

Cut two pieces of drawstring to desired length and insert one starting and ending on one side of the bag and the other starting and ending on the other side of the bag. Knot strings, tie ends together.

Insert shoes and make your way to the green! Or give to your favorite golfer - this is a gift that's way above par.
