If the number of color changes on your machine or software isn’t lining up with the color change sheet for that design, your machine or software is most likely merging color stops together.
To prevent this, you’ll need to find that setting and turn it off. This can look different in different embroidery machines or software programs—it’s usually called “Join same consecutive colors” or similar. Check your manual or contact your dealer for details. Here’s an example:
