All design downloads now include every available embroidery file format for the design (along with color change sheets and sometimes project instructions).
To find your preferred format, download your design, then open the download folder. Locate the format information at the end of the file or folder name—you may need to expand the column to see this information. Here’s an example of where to find this information:
Then you can copy and paste the design file in your preferred format to another location, such as your computer or a USB drive, and then transfer the design to your embroidery machine.
What if my usual format is not available?
Whenever possible, we create designs in the following embroidery file formats: ART, DST, EXP, HUS, JEF, PCS, PES, SEW, VIP, VP3, XXX. Sometimes a design is not available in one or more of these formats, due to the limitations of certain file formats.
If your usual format is not available, try transferring the DST format (for Brother, Baby Lock, Husqvarna Viking, Janome, and Pfaff machines) or EXP format (for Bernina machines) to your machine instead. Many embroidery machines can also read these formats.
If you have any questions about finding your preferred embroidery file format, send us a message and we’ll be glad to help!
