A Day In The Jungle Quilt

Created By Karol

Karol has a Brother ULT2002 machine, and she made this gorgeous quilt for a very special cause.

She writes, "This is a bird quilt my cousin requested for an exotic bird sanctuary fund raiser. The idea was a representation of sunrise to sunset. It's about 62 by 76 inches. I made it up as I went along so took awhile."

Wow! The fabric colors transitioning from yellow to blue are absolutely stunning.

Karol continues, "The black blocks have six of your wonderful exotic birds. There are some of the single run molas for quilting in a few blocks. Sun and parrots and palm trees and a flower. They don't show up much as the thread matched well. The rest of the quilting is just meandering and the straight and wavy lines for the sun rays. It's one of the first quilts I did on a long arm with very little practice first. The tall narrow piece in the lower center with the long grasses is the same fabric as the back and binding as well as the alternate blocks in the nine patches. The embroidered birds came out wonderfully as always."

Oh Karol, this is remarkable. I hope the quilt fetched an excellent price at the auction. So much time and materials went into this creation. Beautifully done!
