A Fire-Breathing Quilt

Created By Sandra
It's no surprise that Sandra will be entering this quilt she made into an exhibit, as it is just gorgeous. She writes... "The theme of the quilt is the magic of wind and water. In Chinese mythology, the blue dragon symbolises water, and the golden dragon symbolises the wind. Water is surrounded by air so the blue dragon is in the middle of the quilt. The golden dragons represent the winds that come ech of the cardinal points of the compass i.e. east, south, west and north (the Chinese always start with east because it represents their concept of a central nation) the background of the quilt represents air and water combined. I hope you like it." I love it, Sandra! The dragon designs are gorgeous against the black squares, and the blue dragon on the cream fabric in the center is a wonderful highlight. Thanks for sharing this legendary quilt with us! Fly on down the page to see the designs Sandra used. FAVORITE
