A Wearables Challenge
Created By Betsy
Betsy made this fabulous shirt as part of a Wearables Group challenge. She used an old unworn shirt from the far reaches of her husband's closet, and transformed it totally with her embroidery talents! She says, "The challenge was to use black and one other color in a wearable item. This was one of my husbands shirts which was literally sitting in the closet for years. I used the A Lot Like Lace packs, in two sizes, for embroidery embellishment. I also used decorative stitches from my Janome 10001 sewing machine to stitch down narrow and wider black grosgrain ribbon down the front placket, front pocket and back yoke. I located some fabric from my local quilt shop, Stitch Haven, in Brenham, TX, for the collor overlay. You would not believe the comments I've received when I wear this shirt! " I believe you get amazing compliments, Betsy, because this is amazing work. Excellent example of upcycling, too! Well done. Thanks for sharing this challenging project with us.
