Angelic Quilt
Created By Winnie
Winnie writes... I spent time on the weekend working on a small flannel rag quilt. I had leftover pieces of fabric in my stash so had to use it wisely. I left the main blocks at 11 1/2 inches square to get the best from my fabric. The quilt measures 47 square. The sashing strips are 5 inches wide and the small blocks 5 inches square. That is the wonderfun thing about a rag quilt--no set rules-- it can be as large or as small as one wants. I used the I Believe in Angels designs and changed the colors to suit my fabric. I stitched all three layers at the same time and started with the Bramble single run quilting block and then added the angels. This really held the blocks well. I also stitched the Bramble single run in the small squares. In the centre block, I used the lettering from the Guardian Angel sampler and paired it with the praying angel. I am so pleased with the results and will tuck in my gift stash." I understand how you would be pleased with this quilt, Winnie. It is wonderful. Thanks for sharing it with us, and the great details of how you made it!
