If at first you don't succeed, try, try again! That's the spirit Julya brought to this project. She writes... "I tried the applique for the first time and didn't do so well, so I made a fabric sandwich with cut away stabilizer in the middle. After stitching the applique pattern, I cut the applique out and added small beads for the center, stitched up a couple leaves and attached it to the shirt. I'll try again doing an applique--it looks so great when you do them. I'm just learning and everything looks like so much fun! I love doing these things for my grandchildren and they don't mind if I mess up just a little." I'm sure they don't mind, Julya, when they get really cute things like this.
