Christmas Couture for Dolls

Created By Cher
Cher is known for making beautiful doll clothes, and she sent a picture of her wonderful Christmas creation! She writes, "I absolutely love the designs I've purchased from Embroidery Library! I make and sell doll clothes on Etsy and have used several of your designs on my doll clothes. The latest was a Christmas dress for historical American Girl doll Samantha, on which I used the Art Nouveau Poinsettia Corner design on the upper front bodice of the dress instead of a lace collar. I listed it on Etsy and it sold in under an hour!!"
Wow - that's a hot commodity, Cher!
She continues, "I always purchase the smallest size design, then I do have to reduce the size a bit more with Wilcom TruSizer. And quite often I change the thread colors a bit to go with the fabric I'm using for the doll outfit. For this particular design, I hooped the fabric on the diagonal/embroidered on the diagonal, so I could cut the doll bodice on the grain with the embroidered corner looking something like a fancy lace collar starting at the shoulders and coming to a point in the center front. I'm so excited about how it turned out (and how fast it sold!), I know I'll be buying more "corners" and using them often!!!"
When Cher made this she was using a Brother SE-270, but was thinking about getting anew Viking H Series 600E. Cher, this doll and her dress are absolutely gorgeous, and I can see why it sold like hotcakes. Beautifully done!
