Christmas Story in Freestanding Lace

Created By Sheila
Just thought I would show you some of my projects for Christmas this year. I purchased the large Nativity FSL pattern in December of 2007. The first year I made the entire thing for my sister-stable and all as she collects Nativity sets. After finishing it, I swore I would never make another! And I didn't until 2009, that year I made 8 of them and conned my husband into making the stables, as that was the part I really disliked. Again I swore, I would never make another one. On to 2011- this year I completed 11 of them and with my husband once again completing the stables, I now have 11 Christmas gifts all ready to mail and distribute. As you can see from the pictures, I try to make them in the recipients favorite color. I think the prettiest one is the cream colored one, besides these that I thought to photograph this year I have made, turquoise, bright yellow, lavender, John Deere Green (for my son), silver and royal blue. My husband makes the stables from a slab of trunk he cuts from some of our Russian Olive trees and the sides are old barn wood from a barn on out property that collapsed. I think they turn out pretty cool and I hope that everyone that gets one will cherish it for years to come. I finally made my mom and myself one this year and have plans for at least 4 of them for 2012. FAVORITE
