Creative Opportunity Purse

Created By Kathy

Kathy made this lovely purse, and tells a good story with it. She says, "I'd found this canvas purse at the dollar store. I unstitched the bottom of the lining, which only took a second to do since they use really big stitches in these cheap things. I hooped a heavy piece of cut away, pinned the purse to it and stitched the butterfly. Then I realized I'd put it too high. Ding dong creative opportunity moment! So I put another butterfly, flipped 90 degrees and tilted. I used wild colors so they'd show up on this drab green purse. Then I decided it needed a tiny bit of sparkle, so used my heat setting tool and added six sparklies." I love when stitchers turn an "oops" into something they like even better than they first planned. That's the creative process! Way to turn a bargain purse into a real beauty. Thanks for sharing this great project with us, Kathy!
