Marsha delighted us with photos of this quilt. It was made by a stranger, but finished by Marsha and her sister.

She writes, "My sister got this hand-pieced quilt top and its identical twin at an auction for nearly nothing. We decided that it needed something in the large blank squares so I embroidered flowers from the vintage flowers section. I did some flowers in yellow and/or white thread which look nice up close but disappear at a distance. So on the next top I think I'll do the whole thing in red - like redwork."

Isn't that fun! What a treat to find a quilt top at an auction. Thanks for sending the photos, Marsha - I'm going to be on the lookout at the next auction!
