Jacobean Peacock Tote Bag
Created By Marilyn
This bag by Marilyn is stunning! She writes... "I thought you might like to see the tote bag I made using your Quilted Town Tote projectand embroidered with the Jacobean Peacock Oval on one pocket, and the Jacobean Peacock Spray on the other pocket. To quilt the body of the tote, I used the Nishikigoi Sashiko Square, because I thought the curves were similar to those in the peacock design. To save hooping time, I combined two copies of the sashiko design to fit the mega-hoop (6 x 14) in the 4D Professional software. I stitched the tote on my Viking Designer SE, using denim for the main fabric, and fusible fleece for the padding. I found some striped ribbon with colors that went with the embroidery colors, so I layered the ribbon on the belting for the handles. I also backed the belting with denim strips to help strengthen the handles. To add some stiffness to the bottom of the tote. I sewed a pocket to the bottom of the lining and left one short end open so that two layers of plastic needlepoint canvas could be inserted/removed as necessary I am attaching two pictures of the tote. Hope you enjoy it!" I think it's wonderful, Marilyn! Thanks for telling us how you made this fabulous bag.
