Joni's friends are enthusiastic Louisiana State University Saints fans, so she made them this rag quilt featuring many Mardi Gras and LSU-related designs. Mardi Gras has a long tradition in New Orleans, which is where Joni's friends are from, harking back to its French settlement roots. The merriment, parades and eating of delicious foods is a pre-Lenten tradition that was celebrated yesterday in many places around the world. This gorgeous quilt must have been met with delight!
