Molokini Reef Jacket

Created By Roxane
Inspired by the four yeards of painted silk and some underwater designs, Roxane embroidered this enchanting jacket. She named it Molokini Reef, after her honeymoon's location. She writes, "I made an open front top with 100% silk which had been hand painted by a good friend of mine. I then cut a second same shape and size top from very fine and soft black tulle. Before sewing the tulle pieces together I embroidered several of your fish and shell designs, enlarging and repeating some along the edge, two front pieces and in the middle back. I then free-hand stitched the sand and stone texture for the bottom of the ocean floor to give the various reefs something substantial to sit on. When worn together, the tulle floats over the silk which also floats softly as silk will and makes the fish look alive over moving water!" Quite impressive! A Husqvarna Designer 1 was used in this project. Wonderful work, Roxane - thanks for sharing the project! FAVORITE
