Within a month of having her first embroidery machine, Helen was busy stitching out designs! One of her projects is this shirt, which she embroidered for her husband. She writes . . . "My dear, sweet husband comes from a long line of railroad men. My husband grew up going with his father to do line maintenance and sitting with his father and grandfather as they discussed their jobs. He developed such a love of all things railroad. My husband is 65 now and we have been married three years, together for six years. Throughout our time together, I have encouraged and shared his love of railroads. My husband has been slowly progressing into dementia over the last 18 months. I stitched out your "Steam Engine Scene" onto a shirt for him." When he wore the shirt for the first time, Helen says, "He called it to the attention of several people; I'm not sure which he is proudest of--that I made it for him, or the detail of your design. He loves the shirt so much, and sits and looks at that design, marveling at the detail." Thank you for sharing such a sweet story with us, Helen!
