Upcycled Denim Tote

Created By Jo

I used your project that was recently on the site - the Denim Tote. I made the smaller sized one. I decided to make the embroidery on a sweatshirt panel, so it would be a "feature" piece on the tote. Especially since i was using a design that I had been wanting to stitch for a while. Thought this tote would be perfect for this. Used design E3574, Bible and Doves, In my B hoop on my Janome 10000. Then used 2 pair jeans for the tote, and some plaid wool blend that I had around for the lining. Thought using the seat of the jeans for the back panel would be fun. At the end, I mistakenly put on the handles like suspenders! and had to remove and restitch them the correct way! I was wondering what was wrong with it, something just looked a little off - it looked like a jumper instead of a tote! Then I figured it out when I put it over my shoulder.. :-) Learn as you go, right?.... Then I had a cute thin belt that I thought was a great accent becasue i really like the look of the button fly and the back label Levi's tag, and didn't want to cover it with a sash, so the thin belt worked out perfect for that. I can't wait to bring it tomorrow to work and show it off to a few of the girls. I think they'll adore it. Cheers! to Suzanne for an AWESOME project! (and thanks to Kenny for the instructions)
