Resolving Error Messages in PE Design / Palette

If you're writing a card using PE Design or Palette, and the design exceeds the card limitations, then you'll get an error message. Sometimes the error message says "cannot read file version" or "no sewing data," and sometimes there's an image of a hoop with a line through it.

Some embroidery cards for PE Design are limited to 32,000 stitches. Most cards are limited to 5 x 7 inches.

Some embroidery cards for Palette are limited to 50,000 stitches; most are limited to 5 x 7 inches.

Find the limit of the program that you're using. Compare that limit to the size and stitch count of the design.

If your machine can accommodate the size and stitch count of the design, and can take designs by USB cable or drive, then don't write a card. Upload the design directly to the machine.

If your machine only takes an embroidery card, then you will need to split / edit the design to comply with the card limitations.
