Hats for Rachel

Created By Jenny

Some stories behind the projects are best when written by the maker! Read what Jenny has to say about her project, which came out of the fact that she had made some hats for premature twins, inspiring this project: "When a friend saw the picture of the original hats I made she wanted me to make the hat for Rachel, an 8-year-old with a rare from of leukemia. I decided that the grandkids should make them for her. We wanted Rachel to have enough to share with friends that were going to support her, family and those at her treatment center. I understand that any hospital will take donations of hats for Cancer treatment or Preemies. I have not looked into it locally yet as I have had enough to donate them to people I know with the problem. Here is a photo of the first caps we sent off for Rachel. It sure perked her up to think someone cared enough to make her some special hats." Jenny included some websites for the patterns she used for all these hats, from www.carewear.org to http://how-to-make-sewing-patterns.deofsf.com/Chemo-Caps.pdf. We just love the generous spirit of our customers! Rachel is so lucky to have people who love her and are with her during her time of illness. Thank you for sharing, Jenny!
