Stitches for a Kitchen Stool
Created By Elsa
This is my Mom's Cosco Kitchen Stool purchased in the late 1940's or early '50's. I had one from the 1980's, but it was not made nearly as sturdy. Mom's was upholstered in red vinyl, had rusty chrome legs, chipped red metal parts, paint splatters from years of use, and the padding had disintegrated in the seat & back. I took it apart completely and restored all the parts and then used the Barnyard Toile designs to reupholster the seat & back, covering them with clear vinyl to protect the fabric from kitchen uses. I just think it turned out SO pretty!! Mom would be thrilled! Thanks for the designs. I embroidered the designs on my Janome MC12000 with Madiera Rayon on flour sack towels! I used 1/4" foam padding and the heaviest clear vinyl I could find. I used spray adhesive to hold the layers together until I could anchor them to the chair seat & back.
